When a lumberman starts to chop down a big, old tree, a tiny elf appears and offers him three wishes if he saves the tree. He agrees, and while discussing possible wishes with his wife, inadvertently wishes for sausages. In anger, his wife wishes the sausages were stuck to his nose. With resignation and humor, he uses his last wish to remove the sausages and then prepares for a fine dinner.
