In the present day, the mayor of New Kassell is pushing to legalize riverboat gambling in the quaint, historic village, a move that has Torie and her neighbors up in arms. As Torie works to stop the mayor's plan, she can't shake the mystery of the missing child from decades past. When a stranger turns up dead in town, the community is thrown into further chaos.
