Even before basketball player LeBron James became the first pick in the 2003 National Basketball Association (NBA) draft, he was famous. LeBron had already appeared on magazine covers, and his high school games had aired on national TV. Being chosen by his home state Cleveland Cavaliers added to the pressure, but LeBron quickly proved that the team made the right choice. The high-scoring forward played seven seasons in Cleveland.
